Hurdle, Marte ejected after overturned play

CINCINNATI — Pirates manager Clint Hurdle and left fielder Starling Marte were ejected during the sixth inning of Wednesday night’s game against the Reds at Great American Ball Park.
After both benches were warned in the fourth inning following a pair of hit batters, Reds right-hander Alfredo Simon plunked Marte in the hand with an 80-mph splitter.
