Celtic slip up at St Johnstone

Leigh Griffiths scored his 40th goal of the season but it was not enough to stop Celtic slipping to a 2-1 defeat at St Johnstone.
Griffiths flicked home the opening goal on 53 minutes but Saints equalised three minutes later when a blunder by Hoops midfielder Stefan Johansen allowed Steven MacLean to nip in for the equaliser.
Saints then grabbed what proved to be the winner through Graham Cummins, who stabbed home from close range after goalkeeper Logan Bailly and Efe Ambrose got in each other’s way as they attempted to deal with a cross.
Griffiths became the first Celtic player to reach the 40-goal mark since Henrik Larsson in 2004 and only the eighth in the club’s history to achieve the feat, with the striker doing so in his final game of the campaign as he is suspended for the club’s season finale at home to Motherwell on Sunday.
