Lowrie to DL with shin injury; A’s recall Surkamp

The A’s placed second baseman Jed Lowrie on the 15-day disabled list with a right shin contusion on Wednesday, part of a series of roster moves made before Oakland’s game against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.
