UCI: 500 motor checks and counting at the Giro

The Union Cycliste International scanned more than 500 race bikes for motors in the Giro d’Italia’s first five days. It found none.
“We’ve tested a little more than 500 in these few days,” a UCI test official said while scanning the bikes on top of an Orica – GreenEdge team car Wednesday. He waved the scanner across the frame, at the wheels, paying particular attention to the crank and bottom bracket area. Next to him stood another UCI official with a clipboard and pen, marking down which bikes were scanned.
