Texas, toast? Not after a 7-run 8th inning

ARLINGTON — Ryan Rua finished off a stunning seven-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning with a three-run home run that lifted the Rangers to a 13-11 victory over the White Sox on Tuesday night in a game which was delayed by rain for one hour and 18 minutes prior to the third inning.
The Rangers trailed, 11-6, going into the inning before they struck back against three relievers for their first victory in five tries against the White Sox this season. Ian Desmond also had a big blow with a two-run triple in the inning.
“Incredible victory all-around,” Rua said. “How the day turned out … the long delay, different people stepping up. It was a lot of fun.”
Alex Claudio ended up as the winning pitcher with a career-high 4 1/3 innings of relief after both Derek Holland and Anthony Ranaudo struggled early. The game was delayed with the Rangers holding a 2-1 lead.
White Sox relievers were 5-0 with a 1.98 ERA on the season before Scott Carroll, Zach Duke and Matt Albers were knocked around in the eighth. Albers have up the three-run homer to Rua, who went deep for only the second time this season to knock starter Carlos Rodon from the win column.
