DeRozan not worried about free agency

Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan has had a rough time in the playoffs. The two-time All-Star has averaged 17.7 points, but he has shot 33 percent and been inconsistent when it comes to getting to the free-throw line. In Game 1 of the Raptors’ second-round series, DeRozan injured his thumb, and that has made his shooting struggles worse — he went 2-for-8 and 1-for-4 from the stripe in Games 2 and 4, respectively — and affected his ability to handle the ball.
In normal circumstances, this stretch would be doubly disappointing because of DeRozan’s contract status. He will be an unrestricted free agent in July for the first time in his career. As CBS Sports’ Zach Harper noted, though, he is still expected to get a maximum contract. DeRozan told The Vertical’s Michael Lee that he is fully focused on the task at hand, and he is not concerned about this summer at all:
