ATP ROME: Nishikori overcomes Troicki, solid wins for Berdych and Kohlschreiber

6th seed Kei Nishikori was forced to dig deep against Viktor Troicki before scoring a 5-7 6-2 6-3 win, especially in the first set. The Serb has won the opening set with a late break in the last game but Nishikori responded well, breaking his rival twice in each of the next two sets to safely reach the third round. Troicki fired 10 aces and played on even terms with the favorite from Japan for more than hour before Kei started to control the match.
