Mats Hummels to Bayern Munich: Latest Transfer Details, Reaction and More

Mats Hummels has finally decided to depart Borussia Dortmund, agreeing to join Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich, as announced by the Black and Yellows’ official website (text in German) on Tuesday.
Bayern also confirmed the transfer, revealing Hummels has penned a five-year contract with his boyhood outfit eight-and-a-half years after departing for Signal Iduna Park:

German outlet DW Sports cited newspaper Bild when reporting a €38 million fee will take Hummels back to Bavaria, where he made just two first-team appearances for Bayern before permanently leaving in 2009.
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge reacted to Hummels’ capture:
