Batted balls add injury to insult in loss

BOSTON — Yet another disheartening A’s loss on Monday was compounded by a laundry list of injuries.
Even before the start of their 14-7 loss to the Red Sox in the confines of Fenway Park, the A’s knew they’d be without infielder/outfielder Mark Canha, who is dealing with back tightness, and right-handed reliever Liam Hendriks, who, manager Bob Melvin revealed after the game, was sidelined by elbow soreness.
