Padres-Cubs postponed; twin bill Wednesday

CHICAGO — Monday night’s game between the Cubs and Padres was postponed because of inclement weather; the two teams will play a split doubleheader on Wednesday. The first game will begin at 12:05 p.m. CT, and be followed by the regularly scheduled game at 7:05 p.m. CT.
Jon Lester (3-1, 1.58 ERA) will start on Tuesday for the Cubs, while rookie Cesar Vargas (0-1, 1.10 ERA) will go for the Padres. Both had been slated to start on Monday.
