Modena crowned Italian champs

Modena, Italy, May 9, 2016 – DHL Modena ended a wait of 14 years to win the Italian championship when they defeated Sir Safety Conad Perugia 3-2 (23-25, 25-20, 17-25, 25-16, 15-13) in front of 5,100 fans at the Pala Panini.
It is the 12th time that Modena have won the Italian title and the triumph completes Angelo Lorenzetti’s team’s pursuit of the Italian triple after they had previously won the Italian Cup and Super Cup. They are the second team to have won la tripletta following Treviso’s sweeps in 2003-04 and 2004-05.
