Paul Scholes says Manchester United fans want to see more entertaining football under Louis van Gaal.
United could yet enjoy a successful end to the season by qualifying for the Champions League and winning the FA Cup, but some feel Van Gaal’s tenure at Old Trafford has been defined by the prosaic nature of the football in comparison to that played under Sir Alex Ferguson.
They have scored just 44 goals in 36 league games this season, the same as Bournemouth and 26 fewer than top scorers Manchester City, who occupy the final Champions League spot in fourth.
