Bochy surprised by offensive rut

SAN FRANCISCO — For the second consecutive game Sunday, the Giants were shut out through the first nine innings.
It even surprised manager Bruce Bochy following Sunday’s 2-0 series finale loss to the Rockies.
“I didn’t see that coming with this offense,” he said. “We’ve been in a little rut the last couple of days with the bats. Just gotta get them going.”
With great defense and fine outings from Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija over both games, it’s hard not to look at the offense.
