John Carroll prevails over Baldwin Wallace 5-3 to win the OAC crown for the second time in succession

For the second year running and 7th time in their history, John Carroll Blue Streaks has won the Ohio Athletic Conference title, defeating Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets 5-3 in the battle of first and second seeds at Lindner Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. Thus, the Blue Streaks will be heading to NCAA Division III National Tournament for the second year in a row, and the Yellow Jackets have to wait to see if they going to get an at-large bid to also play in the Nationals. Baldwin Wallace was in front after the doubles matches, but John Carroll manages to turn the things around after intense singles battles, in a tie that eventually lasted 3 and a half hours. Tyler Cole/Nick Siciliano put the Blue Streaks into the lead with 8-3 win over Matt Harris/Kevin Fredrick on court 3, rattling the last 5 games of the match. The Yellow Jackets had a good answer on the remaining courts, as Kyle Patterson/Dominic Polifrone took down Scott Adsit/Dillon O’Brien by 8-5, winning the last 3 games to level the score at 1-1.
