L1: Burton up, Blackpool down

Burton Albion have been promoted to the Championship after a goalless draw away to Doncaster, while Blackpool suffer another relegation after being thrashed 5-1 at Peterborough on the final day of the Sky Bet League 1 season.

Nigel Clough’s Burton will play Championship football next season having secured back-to-back promotions via the second automatic spot behind champions Wigan, and they could face Clough’s former club Derby next term.

Half-time Brewers substitute Calum Butcher went closest to scoring when he was put through one-on-one with Remi Matthews but the ‘keeper saved down low to his right-hand side.

Doncaster needed to win and Fleetwood lose, with an unrealistic swing in goal-difference, to have any chance of staying-up, but instead Fleetwood won 2-0 at home to already-relegated Crewe and ensured a third season in League One.
