Whiteside injures knee

The Heat might be in trouble. Miami center Hassan Whiteside suffered a right knee injury in the first half of Game 3 vs. the Toronto Raptors and did not return for the rest of the game.

There appeared to be no contact on the knee, which is never good for short-term recovery. Without Whiteside, the Heat become a smaller unit and lose both their best shot blocker and finisher in the pick and roll. Much of what the Heat have done to reconfigure their team has been around Whiteside’s growth the past three months.
