- Updated: May 7, 2016
There’s never really good news to report when a person is killed. However, the arrest of Dennis Wright for the apparent hit-and-run accident that took Jordan Parsons’ life is a step in the right direction. Wright’s arrest was reported by the Delray Beach Police Department, on Facebook, following an anonymous tip. Wright will face charges of tampering with evidence and driving on a suspended license alongside charges directly relating to the collision that took Parsons’ life.
At the time Wright apparently struck and killed Parsons, witnesses report that he may have been driving at an excess of 100mph. Parsons was apparently crossing the street, at a crosswalk, when Wright’s vehicle struck him. Witnesses also reported that neither Wright nor another vehicle, reportedly driven by friends of Wrigth, stopped to check on Parsons after the accident.
Following the accident Parsons slipped into a coma and underwent a number of surgeries in an attempt to save his life. He passed away on Wednesday May 4th.
Parsons had been scheduled to face Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 154 on May 14th. Here’s the full statement from the Delray Beach Police on Wright’s arrest:
