Kittel sprints to victory in Giro’s stage 2

NIJMEGEN, Netherlands (AFP) — Marcel Kittel dominated a bunch sprint Saturday to win his first grand tour stage since 2014. At the end of the Giro d’Italia’s second stage, the Etixx – Quick-Step rider pulled ahead of a strong field of sprint specialists in the final 150 meters to solo over the finish line in triumph.
Arnaud Demare (FDJ) finished second in the 190-kilometer stage form Arnhem to Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Sacha Modolo (Lampre – Merida) nabbed third on the day.
