Dave Joerger Fired by Grizzlies: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

The Memphis Grizzlies fired Dave Joerger Saturday after posting a 147-99 record in three seasons at the helm.
The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news of Joerger’s dismissal, which comes as somewhat of a surprise considering how well he did to post a 42-40 mark for the 2015-16 campaign.
Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck relayed the team’s official statement once the move was made official:

Wojnarowski provided some more context regarding Joerger’s ouster:
Sources: For second time in three years, Joerger was seeking Memphis permission to talk with other teams on vacancies. Grizzlies let him go.

ESPN.com’s Zach Lowe added that “there was definitely still tension” in Memphis regarding Joerger’s “flirtation” with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
