Ellsbury day to day with strained right hip

NEW YORK — Jacoby Ellsbury underwent an MRI during Friday night’s 3-2 win against the Red Sox and was diagnosed with a strained right hip muscle, said Yankees manager Joe Girardi.
The outfielder is considered day to day, said Girardi.
Ellsbury stole both second and third bases after working a leadoff walk against Boston starter Rick Porcello, but he appeared to wince and grab his right hip after coming around the third-base bag. …
