Terron Armstead’s deal with Saints worth $13 million per year

The details are in on Terron Armstead’s new contract with the New Orleans Saints, which is worth exactly $65 million in new money over five years.
That $13 million per year ties him for second among all NFL offensive linemen (behind the Washington Redskins’ Trent Williams, tied with the Buffalo Bills’ Cordy Glenn).

And it is the second-richest contract in Saints history, behind only Drew Brees’ current $20 million per year – a record that Brees himself should break with his next contract extension.
That’s fitting, since as I wrote earlier this week, Armstead has arguably emerged as the Saints’ second-best player behind Brees. Defensive end Cameron Jordan, who signed a new deal worth between $11 million and $12 million per year last summer, is also in that conversation.
