Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler had a strange day on the golf course on Thursday at the Wells Fargo Championship. The two were grouped together along with Hideki Matsuyama in the morning’s featured group and both played up-and-down rounds, with McIlroy posting a 1-over 73 and Fowler posting a 1-under 71.
The strangest moment came on the 6th tee when, after McIlroy nearly holed his tee shot, a fan in a flourescent green hat threw a golf ball with an earplug attached to it at the group as Fowler …
