Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel appeared Thursday in front of a judge for the first time in relation to a misdemeanor charge stemming from a domestic violence complaint by former girlfriend Colleen Crowley.
Manziel’s attorney Bob Hinton on Wednesday said Manziel was booked in and booked out at the Highland Park jail in Texas at about 3:25 p.m. CT and was released on $1,500 bond.
Judge Roberto Canas on Thursday briefly explained the conditions of the bond to Manziel in Dallas County Criminal Court. In addition, Canas said Manziel could have no contact — no calls, texts, emails, letters or visits — with Crowley.
Manziel also had to sign an affadavit confirming he doesn’t own any firearms and that there aren’t any firearms where he lives.
