Andy Murray booked his place in the quarter-finals of the 2016 Madrid Open with an impressive 6-4, 6-2 victory over 16th seed Gilles Simon on Thursday.

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and four-time Madrid winner Rafael Nadal both play their last-16 ties later on Thursday.
