Notes: Heavyweight Ruiz to face former title challenger Austin

A few notes from around the boxing world:
• Heavyweight Andy Ruiz (26-0, 17 KOs), 26, of Imperial, California, who has not fought since October after pulling out of at least one fight because he was “not mentally ready,” according to promoter Top Rank, has an opponent for his return. He will face long-faded former world title challenger Ray Austin (29-6-4, 18 KOs), 45, of Cleveland, in an eight-round fight on May 14 in Studio City, California. As a mandatory challenger, Austin got knocked out in the second round by Wladimir Klitschko in a 2007 championship fight. Austin will be fighting for only the second time since 2011.
