Report: Edson Barboza vs. Gilbert Melendez set for UFC on FOX 20

We’re approaching a year since the last time Gilbert Melendez fought in the UFC. The former Strikeforce lightweight champion and 2x UFC title challenger was suspended after testing positive “for exogenous origin of testosterone metabolites” in his loss to Eddie Alvarez at UFC 188. With his suspension nearing its end, Melendez is reportedly going to fight surging Brazilian contender Edson Barboza at UFC on FOX 20 this July. Globo first reported the news on Wednesday.
