Last-place Yankees put A-Rod on 15-day DL

New York Yankees designated hitter Alex Rodriguez was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a strained right hamstring.
He suffered the injury while running to first base on a fifth-inning double-play groundout Tuesday night against the Orioles.
Wednesday, Rodriguez had a MRI. “The machine doesn’t lie,” he told reporters saying he was hoping to avoid going on the DL.
