There is no deal yet but Roc Nation Sports and HBO are working on one to have Andre Ward (29-0, 15 KOs) fight July 9 or July 16 at the Oracle Arena in his hometown of Oakland, California. It would be Ward’s final interim bout before a November HBO PPV showdown with unified light heavyweight titlist Sergey Kovalev in a fight that is already signed. Kovalev’s final interim bout is against Isaac Chilemba on July 11 in Ekaterinburg, Russia. It is possible that Ward could sit, however, because there is very little money to make a fight for him given HBO’s budget constraints. Roc Nation approached Golden Boy about …
