Ohio State Buckeyes girls takes the Big Ten Championship for the first time!

Following the great success of the men’s squad, Ohio State Buckeyes girls have clinched Big Ten Championship as well, for the first time in school’s history! On the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing, the Buckeyes defeated Michigan Wolverines 4-2 (repeated final from the 12 months ago), joining this crown to the regular in Big Ten which they also clinched. The Buckeyes are 28-2 now, winning their last 13 matches and looking very strong before the NCAA Championship. It was a worst possible start for the Buckeyes, though, as Brienne Minor/Mira Ruder-Hook stormed to beat Anna Sanford/Miho Kowase, giving the early lead for the Wolverines. On court 3, the Buckeyes had a good answer with Olivia Sneed/Francesca Di Lorenzo dominating against Ronit Yurovsky/Teona Velehorschi by 6-2, forcing the deciding match on court 2. After inch close battle, Sandy Niehaus/Gabriella De Santis prevailed over Kate Fahey/Alex Najarian 7-6 (7-5 in the tie break) to wrap up the first point …
