Whether you prefer day games or night games, today’s Major League schedule has games — and aces — for you.

The first seven games all will begin in the afternoon, with the Cubs’ Jon Lester, the Nationals’ Stephen Strasburg and the Mariners’ Felix Hernandez among the pitchers slated to start. Eight more games are set for the evening, featuring the likes of the Indians’ Corey Kluber and the Marlins’ Jose Fernandez.

Each contest will be available on MLB.TV.

Here is a look at watch to watch for today in the Majors (all times ET):

Cubs go for sweep: CHC@PIT, 12:35 p.m. In their first series of the season against the division-rival Pirates, the Cubs have taken the first two games by a combined 14-3 score. Now they look to finish off the sweep, improve their record to 20-6 and increase their lead to six games behind the pitching of Lester. The left-hander (1.83 ERA) has tied a career high by putting together three straight appearances of seven innings and only one run allowed. In two of those starts, he struck out 10, giving him 33 in 34 1/3 frames this year. Lester will face Bucs righty Juan Nicasio, who is coming off his best outing, striking out eight over seven scoreless innings against the Reds.

Stat that matters: Lester’s streak of five straight quality starts is his longest to begin a season, but he still would need 14 more to match his overall best, set in 2014.
