Trumbo, Tillman push Yanks’ skid to 6 games

BALTIMORE — Mark Trumbo homered twice to back starter Chris Tillman’s seven strong innings in the Orioles’ 4-1 series-opening win over the Yankees on Tuesday night.
After hitting a leadoff homer off Yankees starter Luis Severino in the second, Trumbo belted a two-run shot into the left-field seats in the fifth.
Severino allowed four runs (three earned) over his six innings, striking out four.
Tillman held a scuffling Yankees (8-16) team to one run on five hits and turned in his second consecutive nine-strikeout start. Tillman, who was the Orioles’ Opening Day starter, improved to 3-1 with a 2.81 ERA.
