Brady team gets extension to file for rehearing?

Tom Brady could be out of options. After the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals reinstated Brady’s four-game suspension late last month — which followed a federal judge vacating the original four-game ban handed down by the NFL last offseason — attorneys for the Patriots quarterback are hoping that the very same Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals will be amenable to a rehearing.
This rarely happens.
That would leave Brady one legal alternative: appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court.
First things first; when the appeals court made its ruling on April 25, Brady had 14 days to petition for a rehearing. But according to court documents released Tuesday (via WEEI.com), Brady has been granted a 14-day extension, which means his legal team has until May 23 to file the petition.
The good news — if you can call it that — is that the latest addition to Brady’s legal team, Ted Olson, might make a rehearing more likely.
