Mariners place Zych on DL, add Johnson to ‘pen

OAKLAND — The Mariners placed rookie reliever Tony Zych on the 15-day disabled list with tendinitis in his right rotator cuff before Tuesday night’s game against the A’s and selected the contract of right-hander Steve Johnson from Triple-A Tacoma to replace Zych in the bullpen.
Johnson, 28, pitched parts of the past three seasons with the Orioles and signed as a Minor League free agent with Seattle on March 16 after being released by the Rangers late in Spring Training. He has gone …
