Former CAF Treasury Manager Gamal Taha dies at 71

“Mr Gamal was not only managing for many years the treasury of CAF, he was as well a brilliant administrator that helped make CAF the professional and international institution it is today.
“CAF is truly grateful to his immense contribution, dedication and hard work. Mr. Gamal was also well known for his unique human values, always at the service of CAF, their members and its administration. He has always displayed unparalleled kindness, care and affection for his colleagues,” these were the words of CAF President Issa Hayatou in a glowing tribute to former CAF Treasury Manager, Gamal Eldin Taha, in a condolence message to his family.
Known by all ‘Mr Gamal’, he passed away on Monday, 2 May 2016 after a short illness in his native Egypt. He was 71.
“On behalf of the CAF Executive Committee, the entire African football family and in my personal name, we would like to convey to your family our deepest condolences and sympathy following his death”, Hayatou concluded.
