In one of the best matches of Monday’s program, Feliciano Lopez defeated Leonardo Mayer by 7-6 4-6 6-4 in just over 2 hours and 30 minutes. It was a very close encounter from start to finish on fast Madrid clay, with only two breaks of serve in the entire match! There was only one break point in the first set, Lopez wasted it in game 5 and after small troubles on serve for both players in the last games, the set entered a tie break.
