Wilson denies Derby late on

Substitute James Wilson’s stoppage time strike earned 10-man Brighton a morale-boosting 1-1 draw with Derby on Monday.
The on-loan Manchester United striker levelled a pulsating affair five minutes after the allotted time as the hosts prepared for next weekend’s promotion shoot-out with Middlesbrough in dramatic style.
The clash at the Riverside will determine who goes up to the Premier League and, while Boro only require a point, victory would ensure Brighton reach the top flight after a 33-year absence.
Derby went into Monday’s game, before a record crowd of 30,292 at the Amex Stadium, already assured of a place in the play-offs and went in front 19 minutes from time through substitute Andreas Weimann.
Brighton’s cause was dented by the dismissal of Lewis Dunk for two bookable offences on 83 minutes, but they fought on to the final whistle as Wilson snatched a point with the final kick of the game.
Monday’s draw opens the door for Burnley to seal promotion, with victory against QPR later on Monday enough for the Clarets to make an immediate return to the Premier League.
