DYK: Kershaw adds to lore in dominant start

Clayton Kershaw was in dominant form Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles, carrying the Dodgers to a 1-0 win over the Padres. The left-hander tossed a three-hit shutout with no walks and 14 strikeouts while also driving home the game’s only run with a third-inning single.
Kershaw became the first pitcher to have an RBI while throwing a 1-0 shutout since Mat Latos did it for San Diego at San Francisco on May 13, 2010.

• How in control was Kershaw? Not only did he throw 75 of his 101 pitches for strikes, but he induced more missed swings (27) than balls (26).
