Eredivisie: Ajax close on title

Ajax moved a step closer to reclaiming the Eredivisie title on Sunday with a thumping 4-0 win over FC Twente in Amsterdam.
Vaclav Cerny’s first-half goal put Frank de Boer’s side on their way to victory before Mike van der Hoorn, Viktor Fischer and Amin Younes added efforts in the last 10 minutes.
Their win means Ajax will confirm the title, provided they win at De Graafschap next week and rivals PSV do not also win and overturn a goal difference of six in the process, at PEC Zwolle.
PSV were forced to work had to keep their slim title hopes alive before eventually cruising home to a 6-2 win over bottom club and relegated Cambuur.
Marco van Ginkel’s opener was quickly cancelled out by Calvin Mac-Intosch for the visitors …
