Big Ten Men’s Tennis Championship: All top seeds advances to the semi-final

Big Ten Men’s Tennis Championship is underway at Baseline Tennis Center at the University of Minnesota, with some good teams fighting for prestige title. Top 4 seeds set up semi-final clashes after commanding victories over lower-ranked schools, with Ohio State Buckeyes still to lose a match against the teams from the fellow Big Ten conference (12 triumphs by 4-0). The Buckeyes were too strong for Nebraska Huskers, improving to 28-2 this season as the Huskers were not able to put a stronger resistance. Fight for the doubles point was the most interesting part of this match and it came down to court 2 where Ralf Steinbach/Herkko Pollanen took down Marc Herrmann/Scott Elsass 6-4 to deliver the first point for the Buckeyes. In the singles, Chris Diaz and Martin Joyce added two quick points for Ohio State before top-ranked Mikael Torpegaard sealed the tie with 7-6 6-3 victory over Dusty Boyer, sending the Buckeyes to the semi-final.
