NFL Draft 2016 Grades: Final Results and Grades Following Day 3
- Updated: May 1, 2016
Connor Cook finally came off the board. The Dallas Cowboys might have their quarterback of the future. Keenan Reynolds was drafted.
Those were just a few of the big storylines to happen in the final day of the 2016 NFL draft on Saturday. With seven rounds in the books, it’s time to discuss how each team did this year. This is also a sign the new NFL season is underway, so everybody party.
Here are some grades and some final thoughts on this year’s draft.
Draft Winners Baltimore Ravens
From top to bottom, the Ravens’ draft was impressive, and it started with getting a future All-Pro offensive tackle in Ronnie Stanley.

Baltimore followed that with back-to-back defensive ends, grabbing Kamalei Correa from Boise State and Bronson Kaufusi. Both of those guys add speed and length, respectively, to a Ravens defense that desperately needs it.
But Day 3 was about the feel-good story of Navy athlete Keenan Reynolds going in the sixth round. Reynolds told ESPN the Ravens will use him as a receiver and kick returner this year, per Evan Silva of Rotoworld. It will take time for Reynolds to develop the tools to play receiver, but his speed is unquestionable and will be an asset head coach John Harbaugh will gladly use when he can.
The injuries to quarterback Joe Flacco and receiver Steve Smith derailed Baltimore’s season in 2015, but this firepower the Ravens added on both sides of the ball should surely get them back into contention next year.
Jacksonville Jaguars
If getting Jalen Ramsey and Myles Jack in the first two rounds wasn’t enough for the Jaguars, they got Montana outside linebacker Tyrone Holmes in the sixth round. He led all FCS competition with 18 sacks a year ago.
There’s no more concern if the Jaguars can rush the passer. Jacksonville will get Dante Fowler back this year, Jack is a sneaky blitzer up the middle and Holmes could start opposite Fowler in a year or two.
The Jaguars are also getting a freak athlete, based on Holmes’ NFL Scouting Combine numbers, per Jaguars senior vice president of analytics Tony Khan:
With pick 181, @Jaguars select DE Tyrone Holmes from Montana. Tyrone led the FCS with 18 sacks, ran the 40 in 4.59, and had a 37.5 vertical.

Ramsey only had three interceptions in college, but that number should go up his rookie year thanks to this pass-rushing unit. The Jaguars already did well by addressing defense early in the draft, but getting Holmes and even Yannick Ngakoue in the third round adds another dimension to that stout Jacksonville pass rush.
Tennessee Titans
It was a risk the Titans were taking by trading the No. 1 pick to the Los Angeles Rams. It ended up being a risk worth taking.
The Titans traded back into the top 10, with the Cleveland Browns, and took Michigan State offensive lineman Jack Conklin with the eighth pick. He’ll be a good friend to quarterback Marcus Mariota, new running back DeMarco Murray and the other new Titans running back—2015 Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry.
Tennessee took Henry midway through the second round, 12 picks after taking Clemson defensive end Kevin Dodd and two picks after snagging Penn State defensive tackle Austin …
