Story’s big night writes happy ending for Rox

PHOENIX — Solid starting pitching dominated the early part of the Saturday night’s game between the D-backs and the Rockies, but Trevor Story once again proved to be the difference in the 5-2 victory in the second game of the series at Chase Field.
Story’s two-run triple in the top of the ninth inning broke the 2-2 tie that propelled his club to the win. Story finished 2-for-5 with 3 RBIs.
The teams traded zeroes for the first two innings until Story drove home center fielder Charlie Blackmon with a run-scoring double off D-backs starter Zack Greinke for Colorado’s first run of the game. Story scored on a single by left fielder Gerardo Parra to push the Rockies ahead, …
