Cowboys take Prescott

One of the biggest priorities for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2016 NFL Draft was finding a quarterback, preferably one who could be groomed as the future starer once Tony Romo moves on, and definitely one who is capable of stepping in and filling in if Romo misses any time.

Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott, the 135th overall pick by Dallas, checks all the boxes.

The Cowboys may have tipped their hand earlier in the offseason, when they brought Prescott to Dallas to meet with coaches after three previous other meetings.
