Edgar’s coach: McGregor walked path of ‘fraud’, should give up 145-pound belt

Frankie Edgar’s boxing coach, Mark Henry, isn’t happy about Conor McGregor’s multi-divisional aspirations. When the Irishman knocked out Jose Aldo to seize the featherweight title at UFC 194, McGregor announced that he would be moving up in weight to dethrone light champ, Rafael dos Anjos.
When dos Anjos pulled out of the bout with a broken foot, ‘The Notorious’ climbed another weight class to take on late-replacement Nate Diaz at UFC 196. It marked McGregor’s 170-pound debut, which saw the SBG Ireland product submitted in the second round.
Following the loss – McGregor’s first in the UFC – it was announced that a welterweight rematch with Diaz would headline the blockbuster UFC 200 card. However due to a recent spat between McGregor and the promotion, the 27-year-old was pulled from the event and is expected to defend his FW title against the winner of Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar.
