Lakers hire Warriors’ Walton as next coach

After their season came to an end, the Los Angeles Lakers took some time before deciding to fire head coach Byron Scott. It took them less than week to find a replacement.
On Friday, the Lakers announced that they’ve hired Golden State Warriors assistant coach Luke Walton to be their next head coach. Walton signed a multi-year deal to be the Lakers coach but the exact length and terms of his contract were not announced.
