Orioles closer Zach Britton on PEDs: Money’s the root of all evil

BALTIMORE — All-Star closer Zach Britton doesn’t have any sympathy for Dee Gordon. At the same time, he doesn’t blame him either.
“If you stay within the range of NSF certified products, you’re pretty safe,” said Britton, who’s the Baltimore Orioles assistant player representative, a day after Gordon was suspended 80 games for violating baseball’s PED policy. Gordon is the second player in the last week to be suspended, joining Toronto first baseman Chris Colabello, who also received an 80-game ban. “If you’re going to go outside of that, you run the risk of failing a drug test, so that’s on you. We all understand. We all know the rules.”
They also all know the potential reward.
