Brady, NFLPA add Bush v. Gore laywer to team

Tom Brady might be running out of legal options, but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to give up his fight against the NFL. The Patriots quarterback threw a legal Hail Mary on Friday and there’s a chance that it just might work.
Brady and the NFLPA added high-powered attorney Ted Olson to their legal team, which could give Brady a fighting chance in his legal battle against the NFL.
One of Brady’s last remaining options in this ongoing battle with the league is to file an en banc petition with the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. An en banc petition would basically ask the court to rehear the case.
If Brady’s legal team files the en banc petition, it doesn’t necessarily mean the rehearing would happen. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals would have to decide if it wants to rehear the case, which it doesn’t do often.
Sports law expert Daniel Wallach told the Boston Globe recently that the court only granted an en banc about 0.03 percent of the time from 2000-10. Obviously, those aren’t great odds for Brady.
However, that’s where Olson comes in.
