Redknapp: Fourth won’t save LVG

A fourth-place finish and an FA Cup final win won’t save Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United job, says Jamie Redknapp.
United go into the Super Sunday clash with Leicester at Old Trafford in fifth place, five points off the top four but with a game in hand, and have a Wembley date with Crystal Palace to look forward to on May 21.
Van Gaal brought United back into the Champions League last season with a fourth-place finish, but having been knocked out at the group stage, while being criticised for his style of play, Redknapp sees his future going one way.
He told Sky Sports: “I don’t think reaching the top four and winning the FA Cup would save his job, but what it would do is give him an opportunity to leave with his head held high.
“But I’m not convinced; I’m not sure how you can say he’s done a good job. It hasn’t been good enough, and is not exciting enough for what Manchester United fans want to see.
“It’s a difficult one because you can keep changing managers as much as you want. They had one manager in 26 years and they’ve already had two in three years, but it depends what you want.
