The person who hacked Laremy Tunsil’s Twitter account during the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday cost the Ole Miss offensive lineman some serious money.

In what will probably go down as the most bizarre incident in recent draft history, Tunsil’s Twitter was hacked just minutes before the draft was set to begin in Chicago. During the hack, someone posted a video that showed Tunsil appearing to smoke out of a bong attached to a gas mask.

Pretty much any team with an Internet connection was able to see the video, which turned out to be bad news for Tunsil. According to FoxSports.com, the video was so damning that the Ravens decided to not draft Tunsil with the sixth overall pick.

Instead, Baltimore went with Ronnie Stanley.

NFL.com also reported that the Ravens took Tunsil completely off their draft board after the video came out. Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome would later say that the video didn’t play a part in who they drafted, but obviously, NFL.com and Fox Sports are reporting otherwise.

By the time the smoke cleared on the scandal, Tunsil, who was projected to be a top-five pick, had fallen all the way down to the Dolphins at 13th overall.

If the Ravens passed on Tunsil because of the video, that means the hacker might’ve cost Tunsil as much as $8.03 million.
