Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev are Nadal’s Heirs. Or Are They?

Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev, at 23 and 19 years of age respectively, are considered by many as the future of tennis, especially on clay. However, can the two young players aspire to become the heirs of Rafael Nadal? The Spaniard had already won his first Major, at the French Open when he was 19 and was heading towards a career nothing short of exciting. A player like Nadal is perhaps born one every 30 years, so the natural response to this question would be: no, no one tennis players at the moment can be considered the heir of Nadal.
