Carson Wentz to Eagles: Twitter Reacts as QB Is Selected in 2016 NFL Draft

When the Philadelphia Eagles traded up to the No. 2 pick in the 2016 NFL draft, it was widely expected that Carson Wentz was their target. The Eagles confirmed those suspicions Thursday, selecting the North Dakota State Bison product to be their next franchise quarterback:

Philly’s decision to move up to No. 2 came with some controversy. Sam Bradford, who signed a two-year extension in March, has already requested a trade.
“Basically, our contention is that the team could have used the draft picks on offensive and defensive players for this season, to win this season,” agent Tom Condon said, per Sal Paolantonio of ESPN.com. “If the plan was to build for the future, where does that leave Sam this year?”
Doug Farrar of Sports Illustrated offered insight:
The top two teams in this draft are trying to replace Sam Bradford, which will probably be his legacy.
